More Items of Interest about Ken R. Bucklew

As an up and coming artist, Ken paid his dues.  He has worked for an advertising agency and a number of publishing companies.  Ken has artwork on calendars, shirts, coffee mugs, greeting cards, even on Ohio State Lottery tickets.  A few years ago, the Indiana Department of Conservation put out a cookbook and Ken's work was on the separator pages.  He also taught commercial art for 10 years.

Ken works primarily in oils, but also creates a number of very detailed pencil sketches.  He is even trying out oil pastels.  Always open to new challenges, Ken did wood burnings of two of his game bird pieces.  One on either end of a coffee table in his studio.

Wood Burning by Ken Bucklew

Ken owns pieces of art and wonders about the location the artist depicts.  Knowing that others may want that same type of information, Ken often mentions the name of the county or road in the title.  For added clarification, he has begun sketching a map of the site on the back of the painting.  It includes the names of roads, rivers and familiar landmarks.
