Items of Interest about DeAnna Cannon

When DeAnna moved to Indianapolis from Evansville, she purchased an older home on the near east side because it offered a lot of room.  Room on the inside for her studio, books and pottery.  Room on the outside for her garden.  Because DeAnna's garden is pesticide free, it is visited by butterflies, bees, ladybugs, and other beneficial insects.  She often photographs the flowers and insects as inspiration for paintings or digitally enhanced prints.  For DeAnna, being in her garden is relaxing and relieves stress.

DeAnna shares her home with her son, Joe and her three cats; Frosty, Sara and Taffy.  She enjoys her cats, even though they occasionally bring her unwanted "gifts," but admits to being a horse person.  She says, "You just can't keep horses in the house."  DeAnna still tries to visit a race track or Lipizzaner Stallion show when she is able.  She likes to watch, sketch, or photograph the horses.

DeAnna enjoys photography and often photographs weddings for family and friends.  Although she has a digital camera and appreciates the instant gratification of digital photography, DeAnna prefers her 35mm film camera.  She scans her 35mm slides and photographs for creating digitally enhanced prints.
