Vera founded the Colored Pencil Society
of America in 1989. As a self taught artist, Vera felt that there
should be an organization where artists could meet, exchange ideas,
share
techniques, and support one another. The CPSA is an international
organization of over 1700 members represented in 16 countries and 23
district chapters around the United States.

| Vera has authored a number of books on
techniques of colored pencil art. There are three books in the
Creative Colored Pencil series and five volumes of the Best of
Colored Pencil. She has also written articles as well
as had
artwork featured in a number of magazines. Vera's artwork may
be found in Colored Pencil Explorations, The Encyclopedia of
Colored Pencil Techniques, Fresh Flowers: The Best of Flower
Painting, and The Complete Book of Colored Pencil.

Vera's art has been featured in many
solo exhibitions and accepted in national juried competitions, including
Audubon Artists, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and the Salmagundi
Club. She received the top award for graphics at New York's
prestigious Salmagundi Club.
