Items of Interest about Robert Eberle

Robert is one of five artists whose work is featured in Painting Indiana, a book of landscapes depicting all 92 counties in Indiana.  The original book sold out and has just recently come out in a second printing.  The show of the original artwork for the book boasted standing room crowds and the sale of the artwork set auction records.

Painting Indiana

Robert has been interested in art all of his life.  He won a scholarship to John Herron School of Art while still in Junior High School.  He majored in art in high school and then returned to Herron for two more years of study.  Robert worked in commercial art for a number of years and then owned his own sales business.  During this time, he also made stained glass lamps and windows.  One of his favorite lamps has dragonflies in the shade.  The base of this lamp has iridized glass with a high gloss finish that allows the glass to reflect through.  Robert enjoys looking at the lamp and watching the colors change with the changing light.

Some people may wonder where artists come up with the titles for the artwork they create.  Robert just looks into his treasure box.  As he thinks of names that describe the mood and feel of the paintings he is working on, he writes them down and puts them in the box.  When a painting is finished he goes to the box to find the perfect title.
