Robert enjoys teaching workshops.
He feels that most people in the group have the fundamentals of
painting, but need the courage to let their creativity flow. He
believes that his life and his talent are not being used in a fulfilling
way if he is
not sharing them with others. He says, "You absorb influence from
some people and reflect it back to others, like the sun."
Tools of the trade |
| In the late 70's, Robert's interest in
energy conservation and the environment led him to design and construct
a three level earth-sheltered home. The home fits into its natural
surroundings, looking like it grew from the earth. He later added
a studio to the design. He enjoys sitting on his deck and watching
birds or squirrels playing in the woods.

Robert and his wife, Carol, enjoy
traveling in their 36 foot Winnebago, Artful Adventure. The name
describes their way of life. Life is an adventure if one is open
to the experience. They go West each winter to paint and look
for antiques. Robert and Carol both enjoy antiques and have many
interesting pieces. Robert likes to study the way light and shadow
play on different finishes and shapes. Carol, who is retired from
her job as Academic Dean of Ivy Tech State College, has a booth at
Midland Art and Antique Mall.
