Sandy and her husband, Jim, enjoy
traveling. They have been to much of the United States, Norway,
Denmark, England, Mexico, Spain and to many of the islands of the West
Indies. They lived for a year in Hawaii.
Sandy met her husband Jim in Norway.
Both were attending the International Summer School at he University of
Oslo. Sandy was
studying the Norwegian language and was planning on staying a year while
studying with a Norwegian pianist. One evening after a performance
for Oslo Radio at the university, Sandy
was on her way back to the dorm when she encountered a mud puddle.
She tried to jump over it but ended up in it. Jim picked
her up and invited her to a student get-together. Sandy first declined but changed her mind. Jim and
Sandy were married in December of the same year.

| A few summers ago, HGTV was in town
filming for the show Our Place. They contacted Sandy to see if
she would do an
interview her about her experimental water media techniques.
Although she only had a few days notice, Sandy was willing and soon had
a camera crew in her colorful garden. The segment introduced
viewers to new ways to use watercolor.

Sandy and Jim enjoy their back yard
garden. The flowers and pond provide a tranquil setting in the
summer. Their cats are very fond of watching the fish. Even in the winter, the fish add a splash (no pun
intended) of color to scene. Sandy's studio is in the back yard as
well. Jim and a lawyer friend built a two-story studio. Sandy eventually acquired the lower level for her framing
center, moving out the lawnmowers.
