Ed is involved in all aspects of glass
work. He builds his own equipment and is a partner in the only
"hotshop" in his area that is open to other production glass artists.
Ed is also very involved in education. He is a teacher and the
glass program coordinator at the Indianapolis Art Center and teaches
summer workshops on glassblowing in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

| Like most artists, Ed uses a palette.
Unlike most artists, Ed's palette is made of one inch thick steel.
To make many of his designs, molten glass is rolled on his palette of
glass colors. Depending on the effect Ed wants, the colors may
swirl or look like paintbrush strokes, or even confetti.

Ed not only crafts blown glass vases and
sconces. He has designed everything from small paperweights to
crystal chandeliers to steel molded glass room dividers. He has
even made a telephone booth. Ed designs and manufactures the metal
structure as well as the glass. Ed also creates foundation awards;
steel molded glass awards set in wooden, marble or glass bases.
