Brian and his wife Genny are the owners
of Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company in downtown Muncie, Indiana.
The gallery, located in a 120 year old building that is part of the
Muncie Civic Theatre complex, was once an art supply store. Brian
and Genny had been doing custom framing in their home and needed a place
to expand. They renovated the space and relegated the art supplies
to another store, making room for original art by Brian and other local
artists. The couple believes that a strong artistic community is a
major component of the revitalization of downtown Muncie. Gordy Fine Art and Framing Gallery |

antique frame restoration and custom gilding. He also makes water gilded
replicas of antique frames for museums. Brian uses traditional
leafing techniques from centuries ago. The labor intensive process
requires many steps and great patience.

Brian and Genny are very active in
the community. They helped to develop an Art Walk on the first
Thursday of every month. "First Thursday" includes artists'
receptions, music and refreshments. They also developed a "Muncie,
Indiana Gallery
Guide" that showcases the downtown galleries, Ball State University's
Museum of Art and the Minnetrista Cultural Center. They both believe
that art is important in the creation of a strong downtown community.
