Dale is a member of Group Six of
Noblesville. The other members of the group are Beth Forst, Karen
Fritsch, Randall Harden, Jerry Traicoff and Russell Wagner. They
enjoy painting together and have done a number of paintings where each
artist paints one-sixth of the finished piece. While each artist
has a unique style, the final painting flows from one style to the next.
They have done paintings of the Noblesville Courthouse; Potter's Bridge,
an historic covered bridge in Noblesville; and an evening in New Orleans. They start with a
drawing of the subject and separate it into six sections. Each
artist takes a section and nearing completion, they assemble all the
sections and paint together to
make any adjustments needed for a smooth transition from one to the
next.

| Dale has painted in watercolor and oil,
done woodcuts, made ceramic sculpture and three dimensional wooden
sculpture. At first glance one piece of 3-D art looks like a chair
with a palette laying on the seat. Upon closer inspection, the
seat of the chair is nearly vertical. Dale had a blue chair that had
been featured in some of his paintings and woodcuts. He patterned
this sculpture after that chair. He also made a table with a nearly
vertical top. It had an opening for a ceramic vase filled with
flowers made of felt and cardboard. To complete the scene, there was an
easel with a painting of the vase of flowers on the table.

Dale, like many artists designs his own
Christmas cards. His whimsical creations capture the warmth
and happiness of Christmas. Over the years he has made a number of
different cards. A collection of these was featured at the Senior
Citizen Center of Noblesville in August of 2005.
