Beverly and her husband, Russell have two children, Becky and Andy. Becky is living in Vermont, and a recent vacation included a trip east to help Becky paint her condominium. (Not the sort of painting that Beverly normally does.) Andy is recently married and lives north of Indianapolis. Faith and family are high on Beverly's list of priorities. She taught middle school art before becoming a stay at home mom, and has worked as a substitute teacher for 21 years. She sells Mary Kay cosmetics, but admits that she will probably never have a pink Cadillac. To do that she would have to change her priorities, and she is perfectly happy with them as they are.

Beverly and Russell are active in their church. They are on the mission and education committees, Russell is an Elder and Beverly has been the Vacation Bible School Crafts Director and a Sunday School teacher for 35 years. Her Sunday School class is for grades 6 through 8. Beverly says that this is the perfect age; young enough to not be shy about asking questions, and old enough to ask pertinent questions that make for lively discussions. Beverly's middle name is Sunday. She was born prematurely on a Sunday morning and her parents heard church bells ringing as she was put into the incubator. A scriptural passage may be found in many of Beverly's paintings. She does this as a way of honoring and thanking God for her talent.

Just Enough - 20x14 - Watercolor

Beverly began taking watercolor classes at the Southside Art League in 1988 with Dave Tipton. She earned a Bachelor of Art Education from Herron School of Art in 1970, but at that time oil was emphasized and watercolor was not. When Tipton died, Beverly was approached about teaching adult watercolor classes. Her classes are a mix of accomplished students and new students who have always wanted to paint, but never had the time. Beverly even has paints, brushes and palettes for rent to new students, so that they can test the water(color) before making a large investment. Beverly was featured in an article about the Southside Art League in a 2006 issue of South Magazine.
