Emma says that she is the nostalgic one
in the family. She has a collection of dolls from her childhood. These are
displayed in front of the "It's a Small World" album, one of Emma's
favorites. She also has the beautiful antique bed in which her
great-grandmother was born and an
enviable
chest of drawers that was made by a great-great uncle.
Selection of Emma's doll collection |
| Emma's home reflects her artistic style.
When a wall color didn't turn out to be quite what was expected, Emma
used a technique common to many of her frames and backgrounds to enhance
the look. The walls are complemented by her artwork as well as the
artwork of friends. An eclectic mix of antique
furnishings and collectables completes the atmosphere. Triptych by Emma Overman |

Emma has illustrated four children's
books. She is especially proud that Laura Bush chose Chumpkin, a
book that Emma illustrated, as one of the First Lady's favorites to be
included in the White House Christmas Tour in 2003.
