mustard and remove trash from waterways on Conservancy property.
He also takes photos and does paintings of the areas. When these are
sold a portion of the proceeds goes to the Indiana Nature Conservancy to
further their work. Alan has also done a suite of paintings for
the Red-tail Conservancy. He was given an exemplar award by
the Council on the Environment "in recognition of his commitment to the

| Alan and Cindy have art throughout their
house. Not only are there paintings and ceramics. Even the tiles that surround the
fireplace are works of art. Alan made the tiles for an exhibit at Ball State
University, comparing and contrasting the work of ceramic artists.
After the conclusion of the show, the tiles were incorporated into the
Patrick fireplace.

Alan and Cindy live on an acre of land
on Pottery Road. The street was named for the potters along
that stretch of the road. The wooded area is backdrop to Cindy's
beautiful gardens of hostas, daylilies, coral bells, columbine and many
other plants. Cindy creates art in the yard while Alan creates art
in the studio.
