Vandra and her husband David are very close to nature. They keep hives of honey bees. This aids nature, as the wild honey bee has been attacked by mites and without bee keepers, there would be fewer fruits, vegetables and flowers. Vandra and David also grow grapes, blueberries and raspberries.

Vandra has designed and worked with sand etched glass. The technique requires covering the area that is not to be etched with a rubber mask and then sandblasting the rest. This technique may be used for flat blasted glass or for three dimensional designs that are more deeply etched in the glass.

Vandra and David created Linder Design. Their company has done signs and graphics for a number of businesses. They have painted all of the murals for the Indiana Ben & Jerry's stores, as well as large scale hand painted murals. Linder Design designs and prints murals on a large format printer and these may then be installed on site. They also make signs using sand blasted redwood. As with sand etched glass, the flat area is covered with a rubber mask. The sand blasting gives depth and reveals the grain of the wood. Vandra then paints the flat surface adding yet another dimension.
