Donna's hobbies revolve around her art.  She says, "Art is my life.  I don't do anything else."  She has painted on slate, painted ceramic tiles, and made computer silhouettes.  Donna also hand paints decorative porcelain plates.  With a photograph as her model, Donna uses enamels to hand paint the image onto the porcelain plate.  Each piece is one of a kind.

As the "Artist in Residence"  at her church, Donna has designed bulletin boards, the cover of the church directory, a missionary catalogue and a 20th anniversary logo.  She has also created posters, tickets and backdrops for church theatrical productions.  Donna painted a watercolor of the church building and her painting, Take the Low Road was used to promote a women's retreat.  She has also demonstrated her pastel technique to children in a Sunday school class.  Donna said the children were so quiet that she had to look and make sure they were still there.

Donna is always learning, always working to improve her art.  She says that if she believed that she had already done her best work, there would be nothing to strive for.  To this end, she has submitted paintings to The Artist's Magazine to be critiqued.  Donna says that occasionally they miss what she is trying to convey, but on the whole, they give helpful, constructive suggestions.  Donna teaches a home school art class to a small group of students and finds that teaching has sharpened her drawing skills.  She also teaches a color theory class on Saturdays.
