Donna and friend, Patricia Voelz, enjoy going to art galleries together. Patricia is the author of Song of Sweetbrook, a book of short stories about life around Sweetbrook Lake. Donna illustrated the cover of the book. The cover picture is divided into four sections. Each section depicts a different season.

Donna may say that her life revolves around art, but the photographs of her family tell a different story. Donna and husband, Tony, raised five children. Donna didn't exhibit regularly until the children were nearly grown.

Donna is a member of Hoosier Salon, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, Indiana Artist's Club, and The Southside Art League. She also exhibits at the Brown County Art Gallery in Nashville, Indiana. The gallery is creating a calendar and Donna's pastel, Winter Ruts, has been chosen to represent February.
