Sheryl's talents are not limited to the
visual arts. She enjoys playing the piano and tap dancing.
Sheryl points out that these are not done at the same time. As a
child, Sheryl took dance lessons until she became too tall and "gangly"
(her word, not mine) to continue. As an adult, she again felt the
urge to dance and has been taking Tap and Jazz lessons for eleven years.
She performs with other adults and finds dancing more enjoyable as an adult
because it is her choice.

| Many of Sheryl's abstractions and
collages make use of "Yupo" a flat paintable sheet. Unlike paper, this
plastic surface does not absorb the paint. She uses thinned
acrylic to create flowing designs. Some resemble flowers, feathers
or water. Once the paint has dried, Sheryl can use the cut out
design as the inspiration for a new creation or to add depth to an
existing project.

Sheryl has a collection of carved wooden
angels. She was attracted to the beauty of the wood as well as the
personalities of the angels.
