Rosemarie taught elementary art and
second grade for more years than she wishes to tell. After
retiring she also
taught adult watercolor classes and workshops, but now enjoys sharing
her studio space with visiting grandchildren. Rosemarie
purchased a set of brushes and paints for each grandchild and their
paintings are prominently displayed in her studio. Rosemarie
has two sons and four grandchildren.

Matisse, her Himalayan cat. Matisse is also an occasional model.
Rosemarie tries to capture the personality of the subject in her
portraits, and this holds true of her animal portraits as well.
"Cattitude" is a perfect example.

Rosemarie has loved art since she was a
child. At about eight years of age she took lessons from a
woman who taught pastels. A few years later, while living in
Richmond, Rosemarie and a friend walked to a nearby studio for lessons.
Once Rosemarie was introduced to watercolor, she had found her medium of
choice. She especially likes the way watercolor blends.
