Gerry and his wife Jackie have been married since 1989. Jackie is very supportive of Gerry and has been a model for some of his portraits. She loves all kinds of art and enjoys going to the different art events with Gerry.

Gerry has two step-children, Valerie and Jeremy. Both children are married and Gerry and Jackie now have a grandson named Dennis, who is affectionately known as "Peanut." Photographs of family members are found throughout the Traicoff home.

Gerry is a member of the Group 6 artists. The six artists work collaboratively on a single painting, with each member doing a separate section of the painting in his or her own style. They discuss and agree upon the subject in terms of concept and size. Gerry likes the way each artist is able to express personal feelings about the subject through imagery. He says that each artist's character is expressed in the painting and that is emphasized when the whole piece comes together.
