When Frank turned his attention to
dollhouse furniture he gave it as much detail as possible. The
doors and drawers actually open. The first picture taken of these pieces
(without a scale reference) looked like furniture against a white wall.

| Frank made this miniature from
blueprints of a caboose. He scored the wood for the sides so that
it would look like planking as there was nothing pre-made that was the
proper scale. The "B & O" logo on the side is hand painted (again
to scale.) At the time Frank made the caboose he did not have the
blueprints for the interior. One of the sides was removable in case
he decided to put those details in at a later date.

Frank was known for his railroad paintings; over four hundred. These differ from most railroad paintings because they are detailed landscapes that include a train. Frank was not content until a painting met his high standards, including details that most people would never realize were missing. He would not sign his work until he was satisfied. During the Christmas holiday, Frank like many artists would send his close friends hand made Christmas cards.
