Items of Interest about Tom Woodson
![]() |
Tom spends most of his time painting,
but also dedicates many hours to helping his brother, Dan, renovate an older home
in Muncie, Indiana. They have replaced woodwork, lighting and
cabinets and turned ordinary doorways into arched passages. There
is still much work to do, but the brothers are up to the task. The historic
home serves as a studio for both Tom and Dan.
Arched doorway in the process of renovation |
| Tom is part of an artistic family.
He was greatly influenced by his brother, Dan, but has now found his own
unique style. Dan was one of the driving forces in the Painting Indiana
project. Dan's son and grandson also paint. One of
Tom's daughters is considering taking up painting as well.

When Tom began to paint, he would have
Dan critique his work. Dan and Tom would often go to paint-outs
together. One time they drove to Tucson, Az. for a national
competition. Tom was very excited and could not wait to arrive and start painting.
Registration for the event was in an art gallery. Tom was
overwhelmed when he saw all of the beautiful southwestern artwork and developed artist's block.
He was able to overcome this when he and Dan jointly painted a desert
building. A joint effort |
